Frequently Asked Questions

1. What should I expect during my first session?

Your first session is a chance for me to really listen—to your body, your story, your needs. We’ll begin with a short conversation about what brings you here: tension, recovery, relaxation, or deeper embodiment. From there, I’ll use a blend of tailored techniques to support your body in releasing tension and finding calm. Most people leave feeling lighter, more aligned, and deeply supported.

2. What should I wear?

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. For massage, you may undress to undergarments and will be gently draped—only the area being worked on is exposed. For movement or somatic sessions, comfy clothes that allow you to move freely are perfect.

3. How do I know which treatment suits me best?

If you’re unsure, don’t worry—that’s exactly why I check in at the start. We'll explore what your body is calling for. Prefer gentle relaxation? Go for Relaxation Massage. Feeling stiff or recovering from intense activity? Sports or Deep Tissue Massage may be ideal. Curious about more internal, movement-based release? Try Somatic Bodywork.

4. Do you work with injuries or chronic pain?

Absolutely. Many clients arrive with long-standing tension or injury. My approach is firm when needed, but always mindful of your comfort and boundaries. We'll tailor each session to your specific needs, helping you release tension and rediscover ease—without pushing beyond what feels safe.

5. How often should I book a session?

It depends on your goals. For general relaxation and stress relief, every 3–4 weeks is often enough. If you're managing chronic pain or rehabilitation, weekly or bi-weekly sessions usually bring the most progress. We can customize a rhythm that matches your body’s needs and your schedule.

6. What is Somatic Bodywork, and how’s it different from massage?

Somatic bodywork combines therapeutic touch with mindful movement, breath, and nervous system awareness. Unlike deep massage, which primarily releases physical tension, this approach helps the body shift habitual patterns stored in the nervous system. It’s a deeper, integrative experience that supports ongoing ease and awareness in your daily movement.

7. How can I prepare for a session?

Simply arrive with an open mind and whatever brings you comfort—a water bottle, layers to adjust for warmth, or clothing you’ll feel relaxed in. If it’s your first time, try to arrive 10 minutes early so we have time to connect before we begin.

8. Is your work covered by insurance?

At this time, sessions are not reimbursable through Dutch health insurance. My work falls outside the conventional medical system and is considered complementary care. If you have a health savings plan or private coverage that includes alternative therapies or bodywork, you may be able to submit receipts independently—please check with your provider.
